A Vote for a Continuing Resolution without a Clean Dream Act is a Vote for Deportations, Congress needs to act this New Year

The farm worker movement is disappointed that the House of Representatives and the Senate couldn't end the year with the passage of a spending bill inclusive of a clean Dream Act. However, our efforts to pass a clean Dream Act continue as hopeful into the beginning of the year as more and more congress members are pledging a vote against a spending bill without a clean Dream Act.

Congress will now go home for the holidays without voting on the Dream Act and taking protections for undocumented youth.  Each day, 122 young people who are part of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program lose their protection from deportation; every week that number rises to 850 American undocumented youth whose lives are thrown into uncertainty.  Our youth cannot wait any longer, we are on the right side of history and we remain strong as we continue to increase intensity, presence and organizing until we have a clean Dream Act.
